Get-R-Done

These past few weeks have been extremely busy for the Laughlin household. After the laminate floors were completed we headed out of town for a few days. Three days in Bloomington with Dave and Amanda a day and a half at Grandpa and Grandma Johnson's in Watseka. On our way home (normally a 3 1/2 hour drive) we ended up stopping in Arcola and going to Rockome Gardens.

There was the petting zoo, which had a sign up saying not to touch the donkey because it "nibbles on little fingers", civil war reenactments, a "train" ride to see elk that were nowhere to be found, and the rock figures. Overall I was quite unimpressed, but it got Luke and Lilly out of the van for over an hour so it was worth it.

The next week Heath, Ben, Jeff and I went golfing. We played 36 holes of golf and got lunch for $19. What a deal! On Thursday we went to Litchfield for the 4th of July with some of the Watseka crew. That is always a fun day and a few of us went swimming even though it was absolutely freezing. That's right, cold on the 3rd of July. People were sitting on the deck with blankets on.

On Friday the 4th we went to Granite City for fireworks and the kids absolutely loved it! When they ended Luke kept saying "More! More! More!" It was a great time and always good to remember how blessed we are to live in this great nation. Thank you God.

Since then I've been working on the house some more. I got the recessed lights in our family room and painted the living room and then ripped out the old carpet so our new carpet could get put in yesterday. It's been busy, but good in the Laughlin Life.

God bless!
